Named after its original owner Frederick A. Clark, the small mining town of Frederick has become a vibrant and growing community in Colorado’s Front Range. Situated approximately 20 miles North of Denver, Frederick is well known for being one of the “best small towns near Denver,” providing a small town feel for its residents with easy access to a wide variety of attractions that are less than 30 minutes away.

Since 2000, the community of Frederick has grown more than 350% to a population of over 11,000. Today, residents can enjoy unparalleled views of the Rocky Mountains while enjoying an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities throughout the community’s trails, parks and open space.

Geography: 43 miles south of Ft. Collins, 30 miles North of Denver, just east of Interstate 25.

RECREATION

Frederick is at the epicenter of the Carbon Valley area which means that residents of the town are able to enjoy abundant recreational opportunities within the community including an extensive network of trails, parks and open space.  Nearby attractions include the Bulrush Wetland Park that serves as a unique plant and bird sanctuary, and Frederick Recreation Area, a 129-acre parkland that includes numerous recreational opportunities including non-motorized boating, fishing, and trails to walk, bike, or jog. Frederick is also 30 minutes away from a variety of major attractions in Denver.

 

HEALTH CARE

Frederick’s central location lends itself to the finest health care facilities in Colorado’s Front Range such as the North Vista Medical Center and the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Both facilities offer a full spectrum of primary care services.

 

EMPLOYMENT

With Frederick’s exponential growth over the past 20 years, a wide variety of businesses have surfaced within the community. The St. Vrain Valley School District and the Sparton Medical Systems of Colorado medical manufacturing are some of the larger employers in the community. Frederick is aggressively pursuing more restaurants, retail options and services to meet the needs of the growing community through a streamlined permit processing and incentivized programs such as their Urban Renewal Areas (URA) program and Public Improvement Funds (PIF).
