The town of Berthoud is known for its extensive park system including Berthoud Park, Fickel Park, and Roberts Park. Community members can enjoy outdoor swimming, children’s playgrounds, and tennis courts at these locations.
Nearby attractions include Carter Lake, Boyd Lake as well as Pinewood and Flatiron reservoirs. Outdoor enthusiasts will have no trouble finding a place to pursue their favorite outdoor activities such as rock climbing, fishing, boating, hiking or camping. It’s a close to some of best skiing in the world and Rocky Mountain National Park is less than an hour away. Sports such as football, baseball/softball, tennis and golf are popular in Berthoud. With a TPC golf course, designed to host PGA Tour events, under construction, Berthoud is well on its way to becoming a regional attraction for avid golfers in Colorado and out of state visitors.
Berthoud lies central to some of the best medical facilities in Northern Colorado. The local Banner Health Clinic is staffed by two full-time physicians and is affiliated with McKee Medical Center in Loveland. Longmont United and Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland also have excellent hospitals, located less than 30 minutes from town. Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins and North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley are also nearby and offer access to nearly all specialties.
Berthoud is home to dozens of small businesses to meet their community’s every need. Some of the larger employers for Berthoud include the Thompson School District, the 60,000 square-foot Lehman Printing Center that provides state-of-the-art commercial printing, and PTI manufacturing – an international manufactured housing company. Agriculture is still important to Berthoud, but many residents prefer to call Berthoud home and commute to Loveland, Longmont, Boulder, Fort Collins and the Denver area.
